Seaford, N.Y. – The field hockey team fell to Southern Connecticut State University this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The Lions sit at 0-6 (0-4 NE10), and Southern Connecticut improved to 3-5 (2-2 NE10).
The field hockey team dedicated today's contest to Morgan's Message, which strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community.
How it Happened
- The Owls started off strong, finding the back of the net twice in the opening quarter.
- Tori Geaglone of Southern Connecticut contributed a goal and an assist to give the visitors a 4-0 advantage going into the second half.
- The visitors rounded out the scoring in 38th minute.
- The Lions' defense held firm in the fourth quarter, blocking two shots to hold Southern Connecticut at 5-0.
