West Babylon, N.Y. - The East Coast Conference released the winners of its spring sport weekly awards.
Softball's
Amanda King took home the ECC Player of the Week award for the first time this season. King was a consistent force at the plate in a 4-2 week for the Lions, recording a hit and an RBI in five of six games. The graduate student averaged .391 with a .739 slugging percentage, including three multi-hit efforts capitalized with a 3-for-5 day at D'Youville with three RBI. In the circle, she went 1-1 in three appearances, striking out four.
The softball program also saw
Brianna Macias win the ECC Pitcher of the Week award for the second time this spring. Macias posted a 1.80 ERA with 11 strikeouts in a 3-0 week in the circle. The junior fanned five in a critical 4-3 victory over D'Youville.
Senior
Charlie Cucchiara won the ECC Co-Pitcher of the Week award for the second time this season as well. Cucchiara pitched his first complete game shutout of the season in Molloy's 3-0 victory over Lincoln. The right hander tossed nine innings allowing three hits and striking out three to improve to 7-3 on the season. The baseball team also saw junior outfielder
Garrett Scavelli be featured on the weekly honor roll. Scavelli played a key piece in moving the needle for the Lions' lineup. Scavelli hit .625 (5-for-8) with a pair of multi-hit performances while getting on base at a .727 clip.
Freshman
Kathleen Healy took home Women's Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:18.98 at the Lions Invitational. Her time is the best in the ECC so far this season.
