How it Happened
- The Lions fell behind 2-0 early in the first quarter, but goals from senior Scott Capicchioni and junior Jack Herzlinger knotted the contest back up. After the Redhawks answered with a goal, junior Chris Delaney scored his first goal of the day to tie it with three minutes left in the opening frame.
- Roberts Wesleyan tallied three of the first four goals in the second quarter to increase its lead to 6-4 before Herzlinger and Delaney found the back of the net once again to tie the contest. - The home team came out of the gates firing in the second half, scoring three goals in the first 2:17 of the second half to take its largest lead of the afternoon at 10-6. However, Molloy would fight back with three goals of its own from Delaney, senior Ryan Downing, and Herzlinger to cut the deficit to just one at the end of the third quarter.
