Steph Conrade's two-RBI single in the 10
th inning lifted the Molloy softball team over the Queens College Knights, 5-3, in the first game of Thursday afternoon's doubleheader. The Lions fell, 3-2, in the second game. Molloy moved to 27-19 overall and 13-5 in East Coast Conference play, while Queens moved to 10-30 overall and 7-11 in the conference.
Game One: Molloy 5, Queens 3 (10 Innings)
- Senior Akemi Poyer put Molloy ahead, 1-0, with a solo home run to left field in the top of the second.
- In the bottom half of the frame, Queens scored three runs and took a 3-1 lead.
- Junior Katie Hand, who registered a game-high four hits, recorded a pair of RBI singles in the fifth and seventh innings, respectively, to knot the score, 3-3.
- Conrade, who logged two hits, two RBIs, and one stolen base, put the Lions ahead with a two-RBI single in the 10th en route to a 5-3 win.
- Freshman Emily McGurk added two hits.
- The Lions stole a season-high six bases.
- Freshman Brianna Macias threw 6.2 shutout innings and struck out two batters to improve to 10-5 on the season.
Game Two: Queens 3, Molloy 2
- The Knights jumped ahead with two runs in the bottom of the second.
- The Lions evened the score, 2-2, in the fourth. King hit a solo home run to center field, and McGurk tallied an RBI single to center.
- The home team scored in the bottom half of the frame to make it 3-2.
- Poyer tallied two hits and one stolen base, and sophomore Natalie Moussa recorded two hits.
- Conrade added a hit and two stolen bases. The senior leads the ECC with 28 stolen bases.

Molloy will close the regular season Saturday, April 29 against D'Youville. The first game with the Saints is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
