Men's Lacrosse Falls at #9 Mercy in Regular-Season Finale

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse fell to the ninth-ranked Mavericks of Mercy College this afternoon from Mercy Field, 24-10, in the regular season finale. The Lions end the 2023 regular season with a record of 9-8, going 4-2 in leage play while Mercy is 12-3 (6-0 ECC).

Molloy has already clinched its spot in the upcoming East Coast Conference Tournament and will play in the semi final game on Wednesday (May 3), but await the results of games this weekend that will determine the opponent and location.

How it Happened
  • The Mavericks took a 7-1 lead after 15 minutes of play, with Molloy's tally coming off the stick of junior Chris Delaney.
  • Delaney fed junior Adam Hyman to open the second quarter and bring the Lions within five.
  • At the half, goals from sophomore Patrick Dempsey and freshman Justin Palulis rounded out Molloy's scoring. The visitors trailed 12-4.
  • Mercy added three in the third quarter while junior Mikey Rodin and freshman Konrad Maciejny scored for the Lions to end the frame.
  • The home team put up nine goals in the final 15 minutes with Dempsey, Palulis, and Delaney all adding their second of the contest.
Top Performances
  • Delaney led with five points on two goals and three assists.
  • Hyman added three points on one goal and two assist.
  • Rodin and Dempsey each had two goals with Maciejny and junior Jack Herzlinger tallying one points apiece.
  • Freshmen Brandon Pazienza and James Franz each picked up four ground balls while freshman Thomas Kofod and senior Scott Capicchioni had three.
  • Delaney led with two caused turnovers.
  • Sophomore Christian Michaels made 12 stops in net.
