Garden City, N.Y. - The Molloy baseball team split a doubleheader with the Adelphi University Panthers Sunday afternoon at William J. Bonomo Memorial Field. The Lions fell in the first game, 5-3, but triumphed in second game, 7-3. The maroon and white moved to 7-3, while the Panthers moved to 3-4.

Game One: Molloy 3, Adelphi 5
- Adelphi opened the game with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
- The Lions knotted the contest at one following an RBI double from graduate student Chris Peralta.
- Junior Chris Giardino scored Peralta with a double of his own to push Molloy in front, 2-1, after an inning and a half.
- The Panthers responded to tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.
- The home team tallied runs in the fourth and fifth to reclaim the lead, 4-2.
- Molloy threatened in the sixth and seventh innings getting a pair of runners on base in each inning, but the Panthers held them off the scoreboard keep the deficit at 4-2.
- Adelphi added an insurance run in the eighth following an RBI single to increase its lead to 5-2.
- The cardinal and white rallied in the ninth, junior Matt Yip cut the deficit to two, 5-3, with an infield single.
- Molloy was able to get the tying run in scoring position but was unable to convert as the Panthers would take game one of the doubleheader, 5-3.

Game Two: Molloy 7, Adelphi 3
- After two innings of scoreless baseball, freshman Sean Serrano belted his first collegiate home run over the right field fence to give Molloy a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.
- Adelphi responded in the bottom of the frame, clinging to two runs to knot the contest at two.
- In the top of the fifth, graduate student Jake McCarthy cleared the bases with a grand slam to reclaim the lead for the Lions, 6-2.
- Peralta stepped in after McCarthy and connected with his first home run of the year, to cap a five-run inning and push Molloy in front, 7-2.
- The Panthers added a run in the sixth to bring the game within four, 7-3, but that is as close as they would come as Molloy would pitch a scoreless seventh to secure the victory, 7-3.
- Graduate student Mike Andreoli pitched five innings allowing two runs, one earned, two hits, and struck out four to move to 2-0 on the campaign.
- McCarthy totaled two hits and four RBI.
- Peralta totaled four hits and two RBI on the afternoon.
