Rindge, N.H. - The women's lacrosse offense was once again working in full force with seven different players scoring a goal as the team topped the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University, 18-6, to win the team's eighth-straight contest. Molloy improved to 8-3 on the season while FPU fell to 3-11.
How it Happened
- Sophomore Alexa Amorison single-handedly gave Molloy a 2-0 lead, scoring unassisted markers in the first two minutes of play.
- Olivia DeLonais of the Ravens broke the scoring streak before goals from junior Amanda Weber and sophomores Megan Rugolo and Brenna Signorelli put the Lions in front, 5-1.
- The Ravens got two back before Rugolo scored her second and third goals of the game and Weber added her second to regain the five-goal lead, 8-3.
- Each team would add another marker before the first quarter would expire, setting the score at 9-4 after 15 minutes of play.
- The cardinal and white opened the second frame with three-straight goals, one from Rugolo and two from sophomore Kelly Bergersen.
- Gabrielle Oswald put FPU within seven before sophomore Haille Ross connected with Signorelli to end the half with the visitors in front, 14-5.
- Bergersen scored on the woman-up to open the third quarter before FPU responded with a goal of its own.
- Molloy would close out the game with two goals from junior Hailey Dazzo in the third and a goal each from Rugolo and junior Alyssa Licata in the fourth.
Top Performances
- Rugolo topped the squad with six points on five goals and one assist.
- Bergersen and Weber each netted three goals while Amorison added an assist to her two scores for three points.
- Signorelli and Dazzo each added two points with two goals while the goal from Licata and assist from Ross rounded out Molloy's offense.
- Sophomore Carly Howell topped the team with four ground balls while Amorison added three.
- Eight members of the cardinal and white forced a turnover.
- Junior Mary-Kate Sweeney made three saves in the win.
