Waterbury, Conn. - The men's lacrosse team topped the Eagles of Post University, 13-12, this afternoon from LaMoy Field to improve to 6-3 on the season. Post fell to 4-3 with the loss.
How it Happened
- Molloy netted the first two goals of the contest from juniors Chris Delaney and Adam Hyman.
- The home team would stop the run with a goal of its own before junior Jack Herzlinger tallied back-to-back goals to put the Lions in front, 4-1.
- Post fired off four goals in six minutes to end the frame ahead, 5-4.
- In a defensive-heavy second quarter, Molloy once again kicked off the scoring with goals from Delaney and senior Ryan Downing before the Eagles found the back of the net before the end of the half to send the teams to the break tied, 6-.
- The squads exchanged goals to open the third quarter before a three-goal run put Post in front, 10-7.
- Delaney netted his third of the contest before goals from junior Brendan McDonough and senior Sean Plasencia tied the contest headed into the final 15 minutes of play.
- The Eagles would strike first in the fourth quarter, but Delaney and Herzlinger continued their scoring prowess, tying the score with 10 minutes remaining.
- Delaney assisted on a man-up goal from junior Mikey Rodin in what would be the game-winning tally.
- Post would score a goal in the final minute and picked up a man-up opportunity, but a crucial face-off win from freshman Brandon Pazienza clinched possession for the Lions as the final seconds ticked off the clock to grant Molloy the victory.

- Herzlinger also tallied a hat trick, adding an assist for four points, two caused turnovers, and a ground ball.
- Downing, Capicchioni, McDonough, Plasencia, Rodin, and Hyman accounted for Molloy's remaining goals with sophomores Patrick Dempsey and Christian Michaels and freshman Konrad Maciejny dishing out assists.
