Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team fell to the No. 13 ranked Setters of Pace University, 19-5, Wednesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions move to 0-1 overall, while the Setters improve to 1-0.
How it Happened
- The road team began on the contest scoring six consecutive goals.
- Sophomore Megan Rugolo stopped the rally netting her first goal of the campaign to bring the contest to 6-1.
- Molloy trailed, 7-1, after the first quarter.
- Junior Hailey Dazzo bagan the scoring for Molloy in the second stanza, cutting the deficit to five, 7-2, 1:43 into the second quarter.
- The cardinal and white converted a man-up opportunity when junior Kelly Bergersen netted her first goal of her Molloy career. The Lions trailed, 9-3, with 4:25 remaining in the first half.
- Rugolo would add her second goal of the evening with 1:12 to play in the first half.
- Molloy trailed, 11-4, at halftime.
- Following a Pace goal coming out of halftime, senior Alyssa Licata found the back of the net to bring the Lions within seven, 12-5, with under 12 minutes to play in the third quarter.
- Pace would conclude the game on a 7-0 scoring run and hold the Lions off the scoreboard en route to the victory, 19-5.

- Rugolo paced the team with four points (two goals and two assists) while picking up two ground balls.
- Sophomore Sofia Quitoni caused a team-high two turnovers and added two ground balls.
- Bergersen tallied a goal and an assist.
- In goal, junior Mary-Kate Sweeney made five saves.
