Amherst, N.Y. - The second-seeded Lions fell in the East Coast Conference Final to the top-seeded Wildcats of Daemen University, 3-0, this evening from Lumsden Gymnasium. Molloy ends the season at an even 14-14 while Daemen improves to 24-5.

How it Happened
- Molloy started the contest in a 4-0 hole that proved difficult to climb out of. The Lions would come within two, 6-4, but the Wildcats' offense attacked at a .325 clip to take the set.Â
- The teams would exchange leads throughout the set. The Lions' first lead came on kills from graduate student Chye Davis, junior Rebecca Meier, and an ace from junior Alex Brown, setting the score at 5-4.
- The home team would regain the lead before a kill from senior Kiarra Roth, a block from Roth and Davis, and an ace from junior Roberta Monticelli tied the contest at 10.
- Six of the next eight points belonged to the Wildcats, who jumped ahead, 16-12.Â
- A four-point run late in the set that included two kills from Roth, a block from Roth and Davis, and an ace from Monticelli tied the contest for the seventh time, 23-23.Â
- The teams would exchange points and tie the score three more times before Daemen took the final two points to take the 2-0 lead on the contest.
- The back-and-forth nature continued into the third set, with the score being tied 11 times, including 18-18.Â
- The Lions put together a four-point run that included kills from Roth, sophomore Sara Hiebert, graduate student Mariana Donado Yepes, and Meier to lead, 21-18.Â
- Daemen responded with four-straight points to lead, 22-21, before a kill from Hiebert stopped the rally.Â
- The score would be tied another two times before back-to-back kills for Daemen secured the Wildcats its third title in as many seasons.
Top Performances
- Roth had a double-double with 18 kills and 12 digs while putting up two blocks.
- Hiebert and Meier each added seven kills while Davis ended with six.Â
- Donado Yepes also had a double-double with 32 assists and 11 digs.Â
- Sophomore Aria Miller tallied 11 digs to go with six assists.
- Monticelli led the team with two aces.Â
