Sakhat Scores in Field Hockey Loss to Pace

Seaford, N.Y.- The field hockey team fell 4-1 to Pace University today at Cedar Creek Park. Molloy's record drops to 0-10 (0-8 NE10) while Pace improves to 8-5 (5-3 NE10).

How it Happened
  • The Setters took an early lead with Miranda Moshang scoring off of a corner in the fourth minute.
  • Molloy quickly responded with a goal just two minutes later from junior Kassandra Sakhat, assisted by sophomore Madi Stuckart off a penalty corner of its own.
  • Junior Kelsey Price made two saves in the second quarter to keep the score tied 1-1 going into the second half.
  • Tavia Flecksteiner scored two goals in the third stanza to give Pace a 3-1 advantage.
  • The visitors added another goal in the 40th minute to round out the scoring 4-1.
  • Juliana Caraan made her second defensive save of the season late in the fourth quarter to keep the deficit at three.
Top Performances
  • Price made 12 saves in net.
  • Sakhat took three shots, one of which resulting in a goal.
  • Sophomore Lizzy Hedgecock made a defensive save.
  • Junior Devin Harkins took two shots.
  • Junior Bella Bigeni, Caraan, Stuckart, and sophomore Alessandra Vidal each took one shot a piece.
