Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's tennis team opened the home portion of the 2022 season against Jefferson, falling 7-0.

Hannah Niggemeier put up a fight at second doubles, but fell 6-3 to Natalie Wagner and Isla Thornicroft of the Rams.
Junior
Noor Goyvaerts forced an extra set in both of her matches at first singles, but fell to Wagner, 7-5, 7-5. Cafaro (6-2, 6-0), sophomore
Camilla Caballero Abreu (6-1, 6-4), and Niggemeier (6-1, 6-0) each won games to round out the first four singles flights.
"We faced many challenges today with good competition, changing weather, and moving to indoor courts," said head coach
Glenn Nathan. "Our ladies are showing their drive to get better each match."
The Lions will return to the court on Friday (Sept. 16) at the University of New Haven at 3:00 p.m.
