Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team defeated the East Stroudsburg Warriors, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions improved to 32-11, while the Warriors fell to 32-14. The 32 wins set a program record.
How it Happened
- Sophomore Chris Einemann hit an RBI single to make it 1-0 in the second inning.
- In the third, senior Patrick Hoffman hit a two-RBI double, and graduate student Peter Theodorellis scored Hoffman on sac fly, which increased the advantage to 4-0.
- Ahead 4-2 in the eighth, senior Robby Keane grounded into a fielder's choice, which scored Einemann and extended the lead to 5-2.
Top Performances
- Hoffman tallied two hits and drove in two runs.
- Einemann recorded two hits, two runs scored, and one RBI.
- Senior Vincent Pecora walked three times, collected a hit, and stole two bases, and junior David Franchi added two hits.
- Senior Robert Lucano threw seven innings gave up one run, on 11 hits, and struck out four to improve to 4-0 on the season.
- Graduate student Brian Morrisey retired the side in order in the ninth to pick up his fourth save of the year.
