Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team fell to the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks, 13-11, Saturday afternoon at the RVC Sports Complex. The Lions moved to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in East Coast Conference play, while the Redhawks improved to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in league play.
 
How it Happened
	- Roberts Wesleyan began the contest netting five consecutive goals with 7:05 left in the first quarter.
 
	- Senior Abbie Bellport put a stop to the scoring run, bringing Molloy within four, 5-1, at the end of the first quarter.
 
	- Molloy opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals from junior Amanda Weber. Her first came on a man-up opportunity, and the second came while the Lions were a man-down. The Lions trailed, 5-3, with under 11 minutes to go in the first half.
 
	- Over the next 10 minutes of game time, sophomore Mary-Kate Sweeney made three point-blank saves to keep the score, 5-3, with under a minutes remaining in the second quarter.
 
	- In the final 40 seconds of the stanza, Redhawks' attacker Madison Bell netted four goals to propel Roberts Wesleyan ahead, 9-3, heading into halftime.
 
	- Bellport opened the third quarter with her second goal of the game to cut the deficit to five, 9-4, with 8:17 remaining.
 
	- The road team answered quickly to reestablish its six-goal lead, 10-4, with under seven minutes to go.
 
	- The Lions ended the third on a three-goal rally, with contributions coming from freshman Megan Rugolo, sophomore Hailey Dazzo, and Weber to come within three, 10-7, heading into the fourth.
 
	- 1:27 into the final stanza, Roberts Wesleyan snapped the Molloy scoring run with a goal, extending the lead to four, 11-7.
 
	- 27 seconds later, senior Megan Schiaffo tallied her first goal of the contest, to bring the game back within three, 11-8.
 
	- The road team notched back-to-back goals to take a, 13-8, lead with 10:31 remaining.
 
	- The maroon and white mounted its comeback, with Bellport netting two more goals, to bring the game within three, 13-10.
 
	- Weber found the back of the next with five seconds to play to cut the deficit to two, 13-11.
 
Top Performances 
	- Weber (four goals and one assist) totaled a team-high five points.
 
	- Bellport tallied four goals, while controlling six draws.
 
	- Senior Emiliy Valensky caused three turnovers.
 
	- In goal, Sweeney made seven saves.
