Staten Island, N.Y. – The Molloy softball team fell to the College of Staten Island Dolphins, 11-3 and 2-0, Saturday afternoon at the CSI Softball Complex. The Lions fell to 12-17 overall and 6-4 in ECC play, while the Dolphins improved to 7-15 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
Game One: Molloy 3, CSI 11
- The Dolphins jumped ahead with two runs in the first.
- Molloy plated three runs in the third to take a 3-2 advantage. Junior Steph Conrade scored on an error, sophomore Chrissie Huhn hit an RBI single, and freshman Alaina Spates hit a sac fly, which scored Huhn, who tallied two hits.
- CSI knotted score, 3-3, in the bottom of the frame.
- The home team scored one run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and five in the sixth.
Game Two: Molloy 0, CSI 2
- The Dolphins scored one run in the first and third innings to go up 2-0.
- Conrade, who extended her hitting streak to 16 games, singled in the seventh, and junior Alex Burns, who has reached base in 18 consecutive games, reached on an error in the seventh, but the Lions couldn't even the score.
- Senior Amanda King pitched six innings and allowed two runs.
