Buffalo, N.Y. – The Molloy softball team fell to the D'Youville Saints, 7-4 and 11-3, Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field. The Lions moved to 22-31 overall and 10-14 in ECC play, while the Saint improved to 26-12 and 15-9 in conference play.
Game One: Molloy 4, D'Youville 7
- In the first, D'Youville tallied an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the frame, graduate student Courtney Greene belted a two-run home run to push Molloy ahead, 2-1.
- The Lions extended their lead to two, 3-1, following a fielder's choice in the fourth.
- The Saints plated three runs in the fifth to retake the lead, 4-3.
- Greene collected an infield single that scored freshman Cheralyn Dusharme to knot the game at four after five innings of play.
- Both teams remained scoreless after seven innings as the game heading to extra innings.
- D'Youville scored three runs in the ninth to take to take a 7-4 advantage.
- The Saints held Molloy scoreless in the bottom of the ninth to clinch the game one victory, 7-4.
Game Two: Molloy 3, D'Youville 11
- The Saints started the contest with seven consecutive runs. Scoring one in the first, one in the second, four in the fourth, and one in the sixth to take a commanding, 7-0, lead.
- The maroon and white fought back with a three-run bottom of the sixth. Freshman Natalie Moussa brought a run home following a hit by pitch, junior Karsyn Eaton singled to score senior Amanda King, and senior Marissa Nicoletti reached on a fielder's choice to bring home a run, cutting the deficit to three, 7-4, after six complete innings.
- D'Youville added four more runs in the top of the seventh to solidify the, 11-3, win.

The Lions finish the season with the number three seed in the East Coast Conference Championship. They will travel to Bridgeport Wednesday, May 4 for game one of the semi-finals.
