Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team defeated the Caldwell Cougars, 15-1, Tuesday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions improved to 28-11, while the Cougars fell to 14-22.

How it Happed

• The Lions plated nine runs in the first to take an early 9-0 advantage. Senior Chris Peralta, junior David Franchi, sophomore Garrett Scavelli, sophomore Chris Einemann, and sophomore Gavin McAlonie walked with the bases loaded. Senior Vincent Pecora hit a two-RBI single to right field, and sophomore Anthony Manisero and redshirt senior Thomas Brady hit RBI singles.
• With the score 9-1, Einemann grounded out, which scored Scavelli and made it 10-1 in the second.
• Graduate student Matt Overton hit a sac fly, which scored Pecora in the third, and Eineman hit an RBI double in the fourth to make it 12-1.
• Molloy scored three runs in the fifth to increase its lead to 15-1. Brady hit an RBI single, senior Patrick Hoffman reached on a fielder's choice, which brought home Manisero, and Einemann walked with the bases full.

Top Performances

• Einemann tallied one hit and drove in a team-high four runs.
• Scavelli recorded four hits, scored three runs, and drove in one run.
• Brady collected three hits and one RBI.
• Pecora registered two hits, two RBIs, and four runs scored, and Manisero added two hits and one RBI.
• Senior Robert Lucano threw five innings, gave up one run, on five hits, and struck out seven to improve to 3-0 on the season.
