Bridgeport, Conn. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team topped the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 19-8, Saturday afternoon at Knights Field. The Lions improved to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in East Coast Conference play, while the Purple Knights fell to 7-4 overall and 1-3 in league play.

How it Happened

• The Lions started the game on a 9-0 rally, led by three goals from senior Abbie Bellport and two goals from freshman Megan Rugolo.
• Ahead 9-1, Molloy went on a 6-0 run, sparked by two goals from Rugolo and junior Joanna Mauceri.
• The maroon and white led 15-2 at the half.
• Junior Amanda Weber, senior Megan Schiaffo, freshman Alyssa Oddo, and senior Kara Rosenberg netted goals in the second half en route to a 19-8 victory.

Top Performances

• Schiaffo (two goals and three assists) and Weber (two goals and three assists) logged five points each.
• Bellport (three points and one assist), freshman Alexa Amorison (one goal and three assists), and Rugolo (four goals) tallied four points apiece.
• Mauceri netted three goals, and Rosenberg and Oddo added two goals each.
• Sophomore Ryan Smith caused two turnovers and picked up one ground ball.
• Sophomore Mary-Kate Sweeney made three saves.
