Bridgeport, Conn. – The Molloy baseball team shutout the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 3-0, Thursday afternoon at Seaside Park. The Lions improved to 22-10 overall and 8-2 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights fell to 14-19 overall and 5-5 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• Graduate student Matt Overton hit an RBI single to right, which scored senior Vincent Pecora and made it 1-0 in the first inning.
• In the seventh the Lions increased their advantage to 3-0, sophomore Anthony Manisero brought home sophomore Chris Einemann and junior David Franchi with a single to left field.

Top Performances

• Overton and Pecora tallied two hits each.
• Manisero drove in two runs.
• Junior Charlie Cucchiara threw nine shutout innings, gave up two hits, and struck out four to move to 5-0 on the season.
