Baseball Defeated by Felician

Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Felician Golden Falcons, 15-6, Tuesday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions moved to 21-10, while the Golden Falcons moved to 14-14.
 
How it Happened
  • Felician started quickly in the top of the first, scoring a run off an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Golden Falcons hung an eight spot in the top of the third, courtesy of two home runs that brought in a combined seven runs and an RBI single to increase its lead to 8-0.
  • In the bottom of the frame, the Lions broke through, sophomore Matt Yip doubled home sophomore Chris Einemann, graduate student Peter Theodorellis singled in Yip, and graduate student Matt Overton brought home Theodorellis with an RBI single to cut the deficit to six, 9-3.
  • Felician added two runs in the fourth off a pair of sacrifice flies to regain its eight-run lead, 11-3.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, Yip drove in sophomore Garrett Scavelli with an RBI single into right field, and senior Robby Keane scored senior Patrick Hoffman with a sacrifice fly to bring Molloy within six, 11-5.
  • The road team brought home, one run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the ninth to extend its lead to, 15-5.
  • Senior Chris Peralta drove an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, to conclude the contest, 15-6.
Top Performances
  • Yip drove in two RBIs.
  • Theodorellis, Peralta, Overton, and Keane each tallied one RBI apiece.
