Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Pace Setters, 9-4, Wednesday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions fell to 17-6, while the Setters improved to 11-7.

How it Happened

• Pace jumped out to a 4-0 advantage in the top of the first.
• In the second, senior Patrick Hoffman grounded out, which scored senior Matt Overton to make it 4-1,
• The Setters tallied two runs in the top of the fifth and three runs in the top of the eighth to increase their lead to 9-1.
• In the bottom of the eighth, junior David Franchi hit an RBI single, and sophomore Chris Einemann hit a two-RBI double to cut the advantage to 9-4.

Top Performances

• Franchi recorded a game-high three hits and drove in one run.
• Einemann tallied one hit and two RBIs, and Overton scored two runs.
