Winter Haven, Fl. – The Molloy softball team fell to the Le Moyne Dolphins, 4-0 and 5-4, Thursday evening at the Fortune Athletic Complex. The Lions moved to 3-8, while the Dolphins improved to 7-5.
Game One: Molloy 0, Le Moyne 4
- The Dolphins scored four runs in the second to go ahead 4-0.
- In the bottom half of the sixth, junior Emma Bachman singled, junior Karsyn Eaton walked, and junior Katie Hand singled to load the bases, but the Lions failed to score.
- Senior Alex Burns tallied a double.
Game Two: Molloy 4, Le Moyne 5
- The Dolphins plated two runs in the second.
- In the top of the fourth inning, freshman Cheralyn Dusharme, who tallied her first career hit in the second inning, hit a two-RBI double to left field to even the score, 2-2.
- Le Moyne scored in the bottom half of the frame to take a 3-2 advantage.
- Molloy took the lead in the sixth. Senior Marissa Nicoletti grounded out, which scored senior Amanda King to even the score, 3-3. Later in the inning, junior Emma Bachman was hit by a pitch to put the maroon and white ahead 4-3.
- The Dolphins regained the lead, 5-4, on a two-run home run from Alyssa Dybacz in the bottom half of the six.
- The maroon and white had runners on first and second in the seventh, but couldn't know the score.
- Burns tallied two hits, and Hand, King, and graduate student Courtney Greene all recorded one hit.
