Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's basketball team, paced by a career-high 27 points from sophomore Trinity Hudson, topped the Saints of D'Youville College, 77-66, in the final game of the regular season. With the victory, the maroon and white improved to 16-9 (13-5 East Coast Conference) while the Saints fell to 11-12 (6-11 ECC). Prior to tip-off, the program recognized the careers and accomplishments of the five members of its graduating class: graduate students Maya Thomas and Safiyyah Lee, senior Gabriella Aspru, and juniors Cameron Corbett and Morgan Staab.
How it Happened
- After the teams exchanged layups to start the contest, the Lions pulled in front with a 12-0 run, 14-2, led by seven points from Aspuru.
- The Saints would come within four twice in the final three minutes and trailed 18-14 after 10 minutes of action.
- The visitors knotted the score at 24 with 6:20 left in the first half, but the maroon and white would net seven of the next nine points to take a 31-26 lead with 3:19 remaining on the clock.
- Molloy's lead would increase to 37-31 before D'Youville's Sara Pfeiffer hit a last-second three, one of 11 from long distance she would make on the afternoon, to cut the lead to 37-34 at the break.
- The Saints would work the score within one, 42-41, midway through the third quarter, but the Lions led 57-50 after 30 minutes.
- The maroon and white's lead would be as much as 11, 67-56, with 6:36 left in the contest. The visitors, however, scored the next 10 to cut the deficit to one point, 67-66.
- In the final three minutes, Molloy netted the contest's final 10 points, sealing the 77-66 Senior Day victory.
Top Performances
- Hudson shot 9-of-17 from the field to help her to a career-high 27 points. The guard added 16 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season as well as three steals, three assists, and one block.
- Aspuru (16), Lee (15), and Thomas (12) joined in double figures.
- Aspuru put up four blocks while Lee pulled down nine rebounds. Aspuru and Corbett each dished out four assists.

The Lions have earned the two-seed in the upcoming East Coast Conference Tournament and a bye to the Semifinal on Saturday (Mar. 5) in Buffalo, N.Y. on the campus of Daemen College. Tip-off against the to be determined opponent is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
