Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team fell to the Falcons of Bentley University, 62-46, Thursday afternoon inside Quealy Gymnasium. Molloy moves to 3-9 overall, while the Falcons improved to 7-4.
How it Happened
- After the road team opened the contest with a basket, the Lions went on a 10-0 scoring rally while shooting 71 percent from the floor. Molloy led, 10-2, 4:09 into the game.
- Bentley responded with an 8-2 run to close the deficit to, 12-10, with 2:50 to play, but ended the first quarter with Molloy ahead, 16-13.
- The two teams traded shots to begin the second quarter, but a free-throw line jumper from sophomore Samantha Muller kept the Lions in front, 20-17, 4:14 into the second stanza.
- The Falcons closed the first half on a 9-3 run with four points coming from the foul line. Molloy trailed, 26-23, at the break.
- Coming out of the locker room, Molloy pulled even, 31-31, with a 6-0 run with a basket from sophomore Danielle Hippner, and four points from graduate student Gianni Domond.
- Bentley reclaimed its three-point lead, 38-35, following a pair of free throws from Brooke Obar with 3:27 remaining in the third quarter.
- A three-point field goal from freshman Rosa Rizzitelli and a lay-up from Hippner pushed the Lions ahead, 40-38, with 1:43 remaining in the stanza.
- Bentley put together a mini 5-0 run to take a 43-40 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- The Falcons outscored Molloy 19-6 in the fourth quarter, while shooting 60 percent from the floor and 2-of-3 from three-point range to close out the victory, 62-46.

- Domond had a game high 14 points and 10 rebounds.
- Hippner totaled 10 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
- Muller added nine points, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
