Amherst, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball fell to the Daemen University Wildcats, 74-56, to open conference play Friday night. Molloy falls to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in ECC play, while the Wildcats improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.
How it Happened
- Four points from graduate student Gianni Domond had the Lions within two, 10-8, seven minutes into the opening stanza.
- The Wildcats closed the quarter on a 12-1 run to take a 22-9 lead.
- Molloy cut the lead to 11, 30-19, halfway through the second quarter highlighted by six points from junior Trinity Hudson.
- The home team jumped ahead, 34-19, with 4:11 to play in the first half
- The Lions put together 13-3 run with baskets from Hudson, Domond, sophomore Janel Moore, and freshmen Brianna James, and Rosa Rizzitelli to cut the deficit to, 37-32, with 86 seconds remaining in the half.
- Molloy trailed, 41-32, heading into the locker room.
- Daemen outscored the Lions 16-5 in the third quarter to pull ahead, 57-37.
- The Lions cut the deficit to 17, 64-47, but that is as close as they would come in the final quarter as Daemen would shoot 41 percent in the final stanza to close out the victory, 74-56.

- Hudson tied a game-high with 17 points and brought down a game-high 10 rebounds.
- Domond added eight points and seven rebounds.
- James and Moore totaled seven points apiece.
