Philadelphia, Pa. – The Molloy women's basketball team opened the 2022-2023 season, falling to Jefferson, 60-18, Saturday afternoon at Gallagher Center. The Lions move to 0-1, while the Rams improve to 1-0.
 
How it Happened

• Jefferson outscored Molloy 17-2 in the first quarter.
• In the second stanza, sophomore Danielle Hippner sank a layup to keep the deficit at 15, 19-4, with 8:15 left in the half.
• The Rams put together a 9-0 run to increase its lead to 28-4.
• With 1:39 remaining in the first half, sophomore Samantha Muller netted a three to bring the score to, 28-7.
• Molloy trailed, 32-8, at halftime.
• Graduate student Gianni Domond scored four points in the third quarter, bringing the score to, 50-12, heading into the final stanza.
• A pair of free throws from Muller and a jumper from freshman Brianna James shrunk the deficit to, 52-16, with 8:38 remaining.
• The home team would conclude the contest on a 8-2 run and go on to seal the victory, 60-18.

Top Performances

• Muller paced the squad with five points and 10 rebounds.
• Hippner added four points and seven rebounds.
