Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to Adelphi University this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The loss drops the Lions to 1-11 (0-8 Northeast-10 Conference) while the Panthers improved to 8-6 (7-2 NE10).
How it Happened
- Adelphi was quick to start, taking a 1-0 lead in the first five minutes of the contest.
- The Molloy defense was able to slow things down, but the Panthers would add another goal before the end of the first half.
- The Lions had two scoring opportunities late in the contest off penalty corners, but were unable to covert on them.
- Adelphi tallied two goals in each of the final two quarters to win the contest, 6-0.
- Junior Ally Saigh made 12 saves in net while Lizzie Weiner added a defensive save.
