Sparkill, N.Y. - The field hockey team fell to the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 6-0, this afternoon from Spartan Field. The loss dropped the Lions to 1-6 (0-3 Northeast-10) while STAC improved to 3-3 (1-0 NE10).
How it Happened
- The Spartans put seven shots on net in the first 15 minutes of action, forcing sophomore goalie Kelsey Price to make five saves to keep the contest scoreless.
- Just three minute into the second quarter, however, the Spartans put two goal on the board on back-to-back shots.
- Neither team would record another shot before the contest reached the halftime break.
- STAC would add three goals in the third quarter, including one off a penalty shot, leading 5-0 headed into the final 15 minutes of play.
- The scoring was rounded out six minutes into the fourth quarter, settign the contest at 6-0.
- Price would ultimately make nine saves in net while being aided by a defensive save from freshman Juliana Caraan.
