Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to the University of New Haven this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The loss dropped the Lions to 1-8 (0-5 Northeast-10 Conference) while the Chargers improved to 5-5 (5-0 NE10).

How it Happened

• The Chargers were quick out of the gate, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening five minutes of play.
• Freshman Lizzie Hedgecock kept the visitors from doubling the lead midway through the first quarter with a defensive save.
• Junior Ally Saigh would stop eight of the nine remaining shots, setting the score at 2-0 New Haven at the half.
• Sophomore Kelsey Price would take the second half in goal, making four saves in the third quarter.
• UNH closed out the contest with four fourth-quarter markers, but were denied on a penalty shot, rounding out the score at 6-0.
