Flushing, N.Y. - The women's tennis team fell to the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia, 7-0, this morning to open up East Coast Conference play. Molloy fell to 0-5 on the season while UDC improved to 3-0.
Each of Molloy's three doubles tandems secured at least one game, but were unable to secure the doubles point.
Noor Goyvaerts, Camilla Caballera Abreu, and
Jill Cafaro each won games in their respective singles efforts as well, before ultimately falling.
The Lions will return to the court on Friday (Sept. 7) at Point Set Tennis at 4:30 p.m. against Queens College. The program will recognize its lone senior,
Brooke Williams, in a pre-match ceremony.
