Bridgeport, Conn. – The #21 Molloy women's soccer team topped the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 2-0, Saturday evening at Knights Field. The Lions improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights fell to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

• Sophomore Sarah Tappeto hit the crossbar in the 11^th minute.
• In the 24^th minute, junior Lexi Verni had her shot stopped.
• The Purple Knights outshot the Lions 8-4 in the first stanza, but the match was scoreless at the half.
• Verni scored off of a pass from junior Annie Coogan in the 47^th minute to make it 1-0 Molloy.
• In the 58^th minute, senior Jackie Carty saved a chanced from Rebekka Skaasheim.
• Sophomore Eleni Sofroniou hit the crossbar in the 59^th minute.
• In the 64^th minute, Carty stopped opportunities from Angelina LoFranco and Kate Thill.
• Tappeto sent a free kick into the back of the net to increase the maroon and white's advantage to 2-0 in the 84^th minute.
