Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team and the Georgian Court Lions played to a 2-2 draw in the season-opener Thursday evening at John A. Darcy Field. Both teams are 0-0-1.

How it Happened

• Georgian Court, which outshot Molloy 9-3 in the first half, took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Louis Silva in the 31^st minute.
• The Lions had a chance to even the match in the 42^nd minute. Graduate student Isaac Olusina sent a try wide of the net.
• The visitors led 1-0 at the half.
• Molloy knotted the score, 1-1, in the 50^th minute. Off of a free-kick, freshman Gio Fabiano completed a sequence with graduate student Peter Meyer and sophomore Jonas Jacobsen.
• Fabiano put the maroon and white ahead, 2-1, after he touched in a pass from senior Kenneth Garcia in the 58^th minute.
• Silva netted his second of the contest to tie the match at 2 in the 83^rd minute.
• GCU generated the only chance in the first overtime, but junior Dennis Mejia denied Niklas Laenger.
• Meyer had a free-kick blocked in the 110^th minute.
