Wilmington, Del. – The Molloy women's soccer team defeated the Wilmington Wildcats, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletic Complex. The Lions improved to 4-0, while the Wildcats fell to 1-1-1.
How it Happened
- In the 28th minute, junior Sienna Nicolich scored off of a pass from junior Joanna Graca to put the Lions ahead 1-0.
- Molloy led 1-0 after 45 minutes of play and outshot the home team 3-2.
- Wilmington generated a chance in the 81st minute, but senior Jackie Carty stopped the try from Samantha Emmi.
- Junior Lexi Verni hit the post in the 86th minute.
Top Performances
- Nicolich netted her second goal of the season, which leads the team.
- Graca tallied her team-leading second assist.
- Carty made three saves for her fourth shutout of the season and the 26th of her career.
