Uniondale, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team topped the Mercy Mavericks, 8-7, Saturday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions improved to 19-9 overall and 15-4 in ECC play, while the Mavericks fell to 18-11 overall and 14-7 in conference play.

- Senior Matt Overton reached on a fielder's choice, which scored senior Peter Theodorellis and made it 4-1.
- The Mavericks plated three runs in the top of the second to increase their advantage to 7-1.
- Senior Jake McCarthy hit an RBI single in the third, and senior James Messina hit an RBI single in the fourth to cut the away team's lead to 7-3.
- McCarthy hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth to make it a 7-4 contest.
- Molloy tallied four runs in the seventh to take an 8-7 lead. Messina hit an RBI single, Theodorellis hit a two-RBI triple, and Hogan hit an RBI single.
