Bridgeport, Conn. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Seaside Park. The Lions moved to 16-8 overall and 12-3 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights improved to 10-8 overall and in league play.
How it Happened
- Bridgeport went up 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth.
- The Lions had two runners on in the eighth after junior Robert Iadanza singled and sophomore David Franchi walked and in the ninth, on a double from senior Peter Theodorellis and a single from graduate student Sean Hogan, but couldn't tie the game.
Top Performances
- Hogan, who recorded his 200th career hit, tallied two hits.
- Graduate student Joseph Murphy threw five innings allowed one run, on seven hits, and struck out five in five innings pitched.
- Sophomore Robert Lucano pitched three scoreless innings and fanned two batters.
