Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The softball team returned to East Coast Conference play with a doubleheader sweep in the inaugural ECC matchup with the College of Staten Island. Molloy improved to 11-7 on the season and 2-4 in league play with the pair of wins while CSI now sits at 2-4 overall and in ECC play. 
Game One: Molloy 2, Staten Island 0
	- In the bottom of the fifth, the Lions broke the contest's scoreless streak on a two-run double from freshman Chrissie Huhn. 
 
	- Senior pitcher Tonianne Larson, who worked out of a bases loaded jam in the third inning, sent the Dolphins down by allowing just one hit in the final two innings to secure the shutout. The senior struck out a career-high nine batters in the process, improving to 3-1 on the campaign.
 
	- Huhn went 2-for-3 with sophomores Steph Conrade and Emma Bachman each also recording hits in the contest.
 
Game Two: Molloy 13, Staten Island 4 (Five Innings)
	- The maroon and white's bats went to work in the first inning of the second contest, starting off with a triple from Huhn. 
 
	- Junior Marissa Nicoletti drove in the short stop with a single in the next at bat before senior Courtney Greene doubled Molloy's lead with a double. 
 
	- Sophomore Karsyn Eaton tacked on another run for Molloy with a double before Bachman ended the scoring run with a two-run single, giving the Lions a 5-0 lead.
 
	- Huhn led off the second inning with a single before a Greene double and a throwing error brought her home to increase the lead to six after two innings of play.
 
	- The Dolphins plated two runs in the third inning, scoring on a ground out double play and an error by the Lions.
 
	- A lead off single from sophomore Grace Rende in the third set Huhn up for an RBI single to give the maroon and white a five-run lead.
 
	- Staten Island added two more runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Jaclyn Kateridge and a passed ball to come within three, 7-4.
 
	- A single to Greene and double to Eaton allowed sophomore Akemi Poyer to pick up an RBI with a single. Rende and Conrade each drove in runs in the next at bats with singles before Bachman increased Molloy's lead to 13-4 with a triple. 
 
	- Larson, who came into the contest in relief of starter junior Amanda King in the fourth inning, retired four of the five batters she faced for the save. King went 3.2 innings, striking out three batters to improve to 2-4 on the season. 
 
	- Huhn, Greene, and Conrade each tallied three hits for the maroon and white with Bachman driving in a career-high three runs.
