Uniondale, NY – The Molloy baseball team topped the D'Youville Saints, 14-1, Sunday afternoon at Mitchel Field. The Lions improved to 14-7 overall and 10-2 in ECC play, while the Saints fell to 2-19 overall and 0-15 in league play.
How it Happened
- Redshirt junior Thomas Brady reached on an error, which scored senior Jake McCarthy, and freshman Garrett Scavelli hit an RBI single to make it 2-0 Lions in the second.
- In the fourth, freshman Chris Einemann hit an RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0.
- Molloy plated four runs in the fifth to extend their advantage to 7-0. Senior Matt Overton and Brady hit RBI singles, and Einemann hit a two-RBI single.
- Overton hit an RBI double in the sixth to bring the home team's lead to 8-0.
- The Lions used a six-run eighth inning to make it 14-0. McCarthy and freshman Anthony Manisero hit RBI triples, junior Robert Iadanza hit a two-RBI double, junior Vincent Pecora hit an RBI double, and freshman Gavin McAlonie capped the rally with an RBI single.
- The Saints scored one run in the ninth.
