Rockville Centre, NY- The Molloy baseball team split a doubleheader with the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans Saturday afternoon at Mitchel Field. STAC won the first game, 6-2, and Molloy won the second game, 13-12. The Lions moved to 13-7 overall and 9-2 in ECC, while the Spartans moved to 16-2 overall and 10-2 in league play.

Game One: STAC 6, Molloy 2
- STAC plated two runs in the top of the first to take a 2-0 advantage.
- Sophomore David Franchi hit an RBI single to left to make it 2-1 in the second.
- The Spartans scored one run in the fifth, and three in the seventh to increase their lead to 6-1.
- Franchi added an RBI single in the ninth to cut the away team's lead to 6-2.
Game Two: Molloy 13, STAC 12
- STAC tallied one run in the first and six in the second to go ahead 7-0.
- After the Spartans took an 8-0 advantage in the top of the third, seniors James Messina and Peter Theodorellis hit RBI singles to make it 8-2.
- The away team added two runs in the fourth to increase its advantage to 10-2.
- The maroon and white used an eight-run fifth to even the score at 10. Senior Jake McCarthy and junior Robert Iadanza hit two-RBI doubles to cut the lead to 10-6. Iadanza and junior Vincent Pecora scored on wild pitches, and senior Sean Hogan hit a two-RBI single to knot the score.
- In the sixth, redshirt junior Thomas Brady hit an RBI single through the left side to put Molloy up 11-10.
- STAC scored two runs in the top of the seventh to retake the lead, 12-11.
- Hogan hit an RBI triple to tie the score, and senior Matt Overton won the game with an RBI single to right field.
- Sophomore AJ Verga struck out three batters in three innings pitched to improve to 1-0 on the season.
