Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team fell to #16 Mercy College this afternoon, 10-1. The Lions dropped to 1-3 on the season while the Mavericks improved to 3-1.

How it Happened

• The Lions didn't waste any time scoring, as junior Abbie Bellport netted her fifth goal of the season just 26 seconds into the contest.
• Mercy responded quickly, scoring a goal under 90 seconds late to tie the contest.
• After 12 minute of action, the Mavericks added to the lead with Brianna Corace finding the back of the net.
• The home team capped the opening stanza with a goal with 5:28 remaining, pushing the lead to 3-1 at the half.
• Mercy ended the game on a 7-0 scoring run en route to the 10-1 victory. 

Top Performances

• Freshman Mary-Kate Sweeney made eight saves in net.
• Bellport, sophomores Haille Ross and Alyssa Licata, and freshman Ryan Smith each picked up two ground balls. 
• Smith also led the Loins with two caused turnovers.
