Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The women's lacrosse team fell to Georgian Court, 9-8, this evening at John A. Darcy Field. Molloy dropped to 1-2 on the season, while Georgian Court improved to 3-0.
 
How it Happened

• The maroon and white started off quick with a pair of goals from graduate student Amanda Reyes and junior Kara Rosenberg in the first five minutes.
• The teams traded goals over the next eight minutes of game time, with sophomore Amanda Weber finding the back of the net with 17:05 left to give Molloy a 4-2 lead.
• Georgian Court went on a five-goal run to close out the first half, holding a 7-4 lead at the break.
• Weber ended the five-goal run netting her second goal of the game early in the second half.
• The home team cut Georgian Court's deficit to one with back-to-back goals from sophomore Alyssa Licata and freshman Erin Murphy.
• The visiting Lions extended their lead to two with 10:38 remaining in the game.
• Sophomore Haille Ross scored her first goal of the season to close the gap to 9-8 with 3:47 left in regulation.

 
Top Performances

• Weber and Ross both led the Lions with three points apiece.
• Senior Kaitlyn Meyer led the lions picking up four ground balls and causing three turnovers.
• Freshman Mary-Kate Sweeney made seven saves.
• Licata controlled four draws, and freshman Jessica Kofod added three draw controls.
