Mid-Game Men's Lacrosse Rally Falls Short Against Chestnut Hill

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team fell to Chestnut Hill College, 13-9, this afternoon from John A. Darcy Field. Molloy slipped to 1-3 with the loss while Chestnut Hill secured its first win of the season to go to 1-1.

How it Happened
  • The Griffins dominated the first quarter, scoring six unanswered goals.
  • The visitors netted the first two markers of the second frame, but the Lions responded by scoring six-straight of their own thanks to two from freshman Jason Rebaudo, two from senior Nick Del Giorno, and one from both senior Jack Egan and freshman Michael Rodin.
  • The momentum continued into the third quarter with Del Giorno finding the back of the net again for a man-up goal to put Molloy within one, 8-7.
  • Chestnut Hill extended its lead to 9-7, but another man-up goal, this time from Rodin, would bring the Lions back within one headed into the final frame.
  • The Griffins tacked on the first three goals of the quarter to go in front, 12-8.
  • Freshman Chris Delaney scored for the maroon and white to cut the lead to four, but the contest would end 13-9 in favor of the visitors.
