Philadelphia, Pa. - The women's basketball rallied after being down by as much as 15 to force overtime against Holy Family this afternoon from the Campus Center Gym. The Lions ultimately fell, 65-62, to sit at 1-3 on the season while the Tigers improved to 3-1.
How it Happened
- The Tigers hit six three-pointers in the first quarter and led by as much as 12, 20-8.
- A layup and foul shot from graduate student Maya Thomas in the final minute brought Molloy within nine, 20-11, after 10 minutes.
- The home team led, 31-17, at the half, and maintained a double digit advantage headed into the fourth quarter.
- The final 10 minutes of regulation belonged to the maroon and white, who shot 53 percent from the field while holding Holy Family to a .230 field goal percentage.
- The quarter opened on a 12-4 run to come within three, 48-45, fueled by five points from freshman Janel Moore.
- Molloy trailed by six, 51-45, with four minutes left to play. Senior Gabriella Aspuru netted five of the Lions' six points down the stretch, tying the contest 52-52 to force overtime.
- Thomas drained a three-pointer to open the extra period to give the Lions the first lead of the evening, 55-52.

- Graduate student Safiyyah Lee led all scorers with 19 points and five steals while topping Molloy with nine rebounds and two blocks.
