Hempstead, N.Y. - The women's basketball team dropped a one-point decision, 52-51, to Division I neighbor Hofstra University this evening from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Molloy now sits 1-2 while Hofstra improved 1-1 with the victory. Graduate student

How it Happened
- After graduate student Maya Thomas netted the first three points of the game, the Pride went on a 5-0 run.
- Four-straight free throws from Lee gave Molloy its first lead, 9-8, after the first 10 minutes of play.
- The maroon and white led by as much as five, 24-19, at the end of the first half.
- The Pride tied the contest, 28-28, midway through the third quarter before field goals from Thomas and sophomore Trinity Hudson and a free throw from senior Gabriella Aspuru put the Lions back up in front, 33-28.
- The home team ended the third quarter on a 5-0 run to lead 37-36 headed into the final 10 minutes of action.
- The score was tied three times through the final eight minutes before a steal and layup from Sorelle Ineza put the Pride in front, 49-47.
- Lee would hit a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded to bring Molloy within one, 52-51, in a strong performance against the Division I foe.
Top Performances
- Lee led the Lions with 19 points, including going 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. The guard added seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in the effort.
- Thomas netted 11 points to go with a team-high three assists.
- Aspuru recorded a career-high five blocks while senior Morgan Staab added six rebounds and Hudson tallied eight points.
