Field Hockey Shut Out at Franklin Pierce

Rindge, N.H. – The field hockey team fell, 6-0, this morning at Sodexo Field. The loss drops the Lions to 0-6 (0-4 NE10), while the Ravens improve to 3-7 (1-6 NE10).
 
How it happened
  • The Molloy defense was tested right away, as sophomore Ally Saigh made six saves in the opening quarter.
  • Freshman Jessica Kofod recorded her first defensive save of the season, stopping a shot with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter.
  • Feline Van Doorn scored with 2:10 remaining in the opening stanza to put the home team ahead 1-0. 
  • Franklin Pierce went on a 3-0 scoring run in the second quarter, extending the lead to four at halftime.
  • The Ravens' added to their lead after the break, finding the back of the net with a little over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.
  • Molloy generated several scoring chances a few minutes later, as junior Erin Tudryn and Hailey Fiordiliso had their shots saved by goalkeeper MacKenzie Potvin.
  • Franklin Pierce scored one last time in the fourth quarter with under 10 minutes remaining in play extending their lead to 6-0.
  • In net, Saigh made 16 saves on 22 shots seen.
  • Kofod made a team-high two defensive saves.
