Field Hockey Shut Out at No. 10 Bentley

Waltham, Mass. – The field hockey team fell to the Bentley Falcons, 4-0, this afternoon at Bentley Turf Field. The loss drops the Lions to 0-13 (0-11 NE10), while the Falcons improve to 12-4 (10-2 NE10).
 
How it Happened
  • The two teams played ball control throughout the first couple of minutes of the game, looking to gain momentum.
  • Kate Slowe scored 4:45 into the opening stanza to put the home team ahead 1-0.
  • Sophomore Ally Saigh made six first quarter saves.
  • With 11 minutes remaining in the second, the Falcons added their second goal.
  • The Molloy back line held firm thereafter, blocking five shots from Bentley opportunities.
  • The home team began the second half quickly, netting their third and fourth goals in the first six minutes of the third quarter.
  • Freshman Alexa Denis had a scoring opportunity with 16 seconds remaining in the quarter, but put the shot just wide of the cage.
 
Top Performances
  • In net, Saigh made 14 saves.
  • The Molloy defense blocked 12 shots.
