Seaford, N.Y. – The field hockey team fell to the No. 6 Saint Anselm Hawks, 7-1, this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The loss drops the Lions to 0-12 (0-10 NE10), while the Hawks improve to 13-3 (10-2 NE10).

How it Happened
  • The road team tested the Lions early, but sophomore goalkeeper Ally Saigh would make five consecutive saves to keep the game scoreless in the early going.
  • Saint Anselm offense eventually broke through, scoring with under five minutes left in the opening quarter. They would add a second goal with 27 seconds remaining.
  • The second quarter was a defensive battle, as the back line of the Lions would not allow the Hawks to score.

  • Molloy would cut the lead in half at the beginning of the third quarter, as freshman Bella Bigeni sent a ball through the zone that found junior Kyra Dalli who spun around and scored her fourth goal of the year.
  • Five minutes later, the road team found the back of the net to regain their two-goal lead. They would add a second goal minutes later and held a 4-1 lead heading to the final quarter.
