Worcester, Mass. – The field hockey team fell to No. 4 Assumption College, 9-0, this afternoon at Brian Kelly Stadium. The loss drops the Lions to 0-10 (0-7 NE10), while the Greyhounds improve to 13-1 (10-0 NE10).
 
How it happened

• The Molloy defense was tested right away, as sophomore Ally Saigh made six saves in the opening quarter.
• Deirdre Burchill scored four minutes into the opening stanza to put the home team ahead 1-0.
• With 4:22 remaining, Assumption tallied their second goal extending the lead to 2-0.
• The home team added two goals in the final three minutes of the second quarter to take a 4-0 into the half.
• After the break, the Greyhounds scored three goals in the third frame.
• With under four minutes left in regulation, freshman Alexa Denis put a shot on goal that was saved by Assumption goalkeeper Kylie Gargiulo
• The home team concluded the game with two goals in the fourth quarter.
• In net, Saigh made eight saves.
