Field Hockey Falls to STAC, 5-0

Seaford, N.Y. – The field hockey team fell to St. Thomas Aquinas, 5-0, this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The loss drops the Lions to 0-9 (0-7 NE10), while the Spartans improve to 4-8 (3-5 NE10).
 
How it happened
  • The Molloy offense started quickly, as junior Kyra Dalli had an early shot that went just wide of the cage.
  • Olivia Cerbo scored with 9:59 remaining in the opening stanza to put the road team ahead 1-0.
  • The Lions defense was put to the test in the second quarter, as freshman Kelsey Price made four consecutive saves.
  • The Spartans added to their lead scoring two goals to finish the first half leading 3-0.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas continued to pressure the Lions back line in the second half.
  • The road team netted two goals in the third quarter to extend the lead to 5-0.
  • Sophomore Ally Saigh relieved Price in the fourth quarter and made two saves.
  • Price made nine saves on the afternoon.
