Pleasantville, N.Y. - Senior Dana Poetzsch scored her 50th career goal as the 21st-ranked Molloy women's soccer team topped the Pace Setters, 3-1, Wednesday evening at Pace Stadium. The Lions improved to 10-2 overall, while the Setters moved to 4-5-3.
How it Happened
● Poetzsch had the first chance of the game in the third minute, but her effort was denied by Pace goalkeeper Perri Anderson.
● Moments after the Setters hit the post, Poetzsch was again stopped by Anderson in the 17th minute.
● Poetzsch eventually found the back of the net in the 35th minute as junior Annie Coogan fed a through ball into the box for Poetzsch to get by the goalkeeper and roll it in.
● Senior Jackie Carty made three saves in the final eight minutes of the first half to keep Molloy up 1-0 heading into the break.
● Three minutes into the second half, the Setters hit the post again, then they were denied by Carty before firing in the rebound to level things up.
● Poetzsch nearly provided an instant response one minute later, but she put her effort wide.
● In the 50th minute, the Lions retook the lead through sophomore Brenna Glover, as she latched onto a ball over the top and fired it past the keeper.
● In the 73rd minute, sophomore Sarah Tappeto made it 3-1 with a dazzling free kick from the left side, going over the keeper and clipping the crossbar on its way in.

● Poetzsch scored her second goal of the season and her 50th of her career, becoming only the second player in program history to reach that landmark.
● Glover tallied her first career goal for Molloy.
● Tappeto netted her third goal of the season.
● Coogan registered her third assist of the season and extended her points streak to four games.
● Poetzsch led the team in shots with five.
● Carty made eight saves.
