Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team fell to #3 Mercyhurst University, 17-9, at the RVC Sports Complex this afternoon. Molloy fell to 1-5 on the season with the loss while the Lakers remained undefeated at 5-0.

How it Happened

• The Molloy offense came out firing, taking a 2-0 lead on goals from senior Kevin Pastier and junior Anthony Teresky. 
• The maroon and white led, 3-1, after the opening quarter of action after a goal from junior Jack Egan.
• Mercyhurst netted six goals in the second frame to take an 8-4 lead into the break.
• Egan netted the Lions' lone goals in both the second and third quarter, setting the score at 11-5 in favor of the visitors with 15 minutes left to play.
• The Lakers increased its lead to 17-5, scoring six in the fourth frame.
• Molloy scored four goals in the final seven minutes, coming within eight, 17-9, as the buzzer sounded.

Top Performances

• Teresky tallied four points on one goal and three assists. 
• Egan netted his third-straight hat trick with three goals while sophomore Richie Polizzi, Jr. added two points on one goal and one assist.
• Pastier, senior Colin Kotarski, junior Nick Del Giorno, and freshmen Ryan Downing and Scott Capicchioni each added points, with Downing netting his first collegiate goal.
• Senior Andrew Chu went 6-of-18 at the face-off dot, picking up two ground balls.
• Sophomore James O'grady made 18 saves in the effort.
